The Environment in the Utilities and ICT Sectors
E3 conducted a consultancy for the Asociación Nacional de Empresas de Servicios Públicos y Comunicaciones – ANDESCO to understand how to address and include environmental considerations with a prospective vision in the business of the utilities sectors including water, energy and waste as well as ICTs. This work focused mainly on building scenarios of environmental opportunities for utilities and ICTs; analyzing how to develop an efficient, profitable and responsible business activity with emphasis on environment and; proposing actions that ANDESCO and its affiliates can promote to achieve benefits and minimize undesired environmental impacts.adipiscing elit. Amazon Security Agenda
E3 conducted the analysis to understand the nexus between water, energy and agriculture for the Amazon Basin of Colombia, in the framework of a comprehensive Amazon security project led by the Global Canopy Program that was carried out in parallel in Colombia, Peru and Brazil.
Evaluation of the “Incentives for Conservation” Program
E3 carried out the evaluation of the “Incentives for Conservation” program implemented by the Natural Heritage Fund and supported by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Colombia. This evaluation consisted of analyzing the impact of the program’s portfolio of projects in various regions of the country where the conservation of strategic ecosystems is being encouraged with communities, companies and public authorities.
Tourism in Magdalena
E3 developed a socio-environmental consultancy for NSM Consultores to structure and design tourism products for the riverside municipalities of the Upper Magdalena in the departments of Tolima, Huila and Cundinamarca and for the municipality of Mompox in the department of Bolivar. The project also contemplated the generation of ecotourism opportunities in areas with high social potential in line with the integral vision of Cormagdalena, an entity that seeks to promote sustainable development options along the Magdalena River.
Institutional positioning strategy of the Sinchi Institute
E3 supported the Sinchi Institute in the development of its strategic and action plan to improve its institutional positioning and diversify funding sources for the development of the Colombian Amazon and its research portfolio.
