The Marrakesh Agreement included Colombia as one of the 12 countries to pilot sustainable public procurement. Within this framework and in line with the creation of the new office Colombia Compra Eficiente, E3 developed the sustainable public procurement guidelines for Colombia in which the potential of the sectors in this area was determined, the needs to achieve it and a possible inter-institutional agreement to turn it into a public policy was presented. This initiative, financed by the OEI and UNEP, also included training and intersectoral coordination with various ministries to reach agreements on possible purchases that would promote sustainability in the country.
