After reviewing more than 144 applications from all over Colombia, the Climate Finance Accelerator (CFA) announced the nine innovative low-carbon projects that will be part of its second cohort.
Project: Natural ingredients that regenerate life, from Colombia to the world

Description: The project seeks to increase production capacity (8 times by 2028) and its net positive impact by infiltrating global markets with innovative natural ingredients and dyes, increasing the production of Jagua blue, being the only natural blue (stable to acidic pH) that exists in the world market.
Project: Green Hydrogen at the Barrancabermeja Refinery

Description: In line with its Strategic Hydrogen Plan, it seeks to install a green hydrogen plant with a production capacity of 23.9 tons/day at the Barrancabermeja refinery, with an operational capacity of 25 years starting in 2025.

Description: The project seeks to develop, construct and operate distributed solar generators of 1 MWac of installed power each, in Naos (municipality of Taminango, Nariño) and Canopus (Puerto Berrío, Antioquia), providing photovoltaic solar energy to the local networks of these communities.

Description: Aims to provide a mobilization solution with electrical equipment to operate internal container transportation in Colombian ports, thus seeking to replace existing internal combustion equipment.
Project: Composting plant

Description: They aim to construct a composting plant with the capacity to dispose and transform organic waste from the different activities carried out by the food industry into high quality compost, promoting the use of organic fertilizers in crops.
Project: GAIA

Description: The project seeks to replace a fleet of 20 diesel-based transport vehicles that currently operate in the metropolitan area of Bogotá, with a fleet of 20 equivalent electric-based vehicles with a capacity of 7 tons each for the transportation of goods.
Project: Residential Sector 2.0

Description: Through this project, 56 electric vehicles with a capacity of 1.5 tons will be used to increase its fleet of zero-emission cargo vehicles, thus going from 13% to 82% throughout Colombia, therefore reducing greenhouse gas emissions for the transportation of cargo and merchandise.
Project: Implementation of a pilot for the electrification of a SETP bus route in the city of Pasto

Description: With this project, the implementation of an electric bus pilot for the Strategic Public Transportation System of Pasto – SETP will be operated in the city of Pasto, Nariño, contributing to the decontamination of the transportation sector in the city.
