AVA is a pioneering project financed by the Climate and Development Alliance (CDKN), which has generated the first model to analyze the vulnerability of the agricultural sector in a region of Colombia. This model, which integrates economic-productive, political-institutional, socio-cultural and biophysical dimensions and indicators, was developed in the Upper Cauca River Basin for 6 strategic crops in 99 municipalities in 5 departments of the basin. This model has been expanded and used in other regions of the country, constituting a valuable tool for informing the agricultural sector about the challenges posed by climate change and providing inputs for planning the sector’s development in the face of the future climate.
